I lived there for a while, in another lifetime. It's far overrated. The sunsets are nice, the sky endless, the Rio Grande sublime.
The people, with a few sterling exceptions, are like people everywhere, petty, ugly, mired in their consumer lives.
The best thing about Albuquerque was seeing it for the last time in my rear view mirror. Every weapon of mass distruction used by the United States government to kill and maim human beings throughout the world was developed, tested and deployed in New Mexico. It's a truly evil place.
